Great Apple Crisp Recipe

APPLE CRISP RECIPE INGREDIENT
  • 4medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
  • 3/4cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
  • 1/2cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Cream or Ice cream, if desired
APPLE CRISP RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
1.Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening.
2.Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
3.Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm with cream. Hmm...the apple crisp recipe is ready to serve...enjoy !

APPLE CRISP RECIPE

APPLE CRISP RECIPE INGREDIENTS
Topping:
  • 1/2 cup (65 grams) all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated white sugar
  • 1/4 cup (55 grams) light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh or ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons (84 grams) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/3 cup (30 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup (40 grams) chopped walnuts or pecans

Filling:
  • 2 1/2 pounds (1.2 kg) or 6 cups Granny Smith Apples or other firm, tart-tasting apple (peeled, cored, and cut into 1 inch (2.54 cm) chunks)
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries or raspberries (optional)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons (40 grams) white granulated sugar
APPLE CRISP RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Apple Crisp: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and place rack in the center of the oven. Butter or spray with a cooking spray, a 9 inch (23 cm) deep dish pie plate or an 8 x 8 x 2 inch (20 x 20 x 5 cm) baking dish. (Can also make 8 individual ramekins.) Set aside.

For Topping: Place all the topping ingredients (flour, sugars, spices, butter, oats and nuts) in a food processor and process until the mixture is crumbly (looks like coarse meal) and there are no
large pieces of butter visible. (This can also be done with two knives or your fingertips.) Set aside while you prepare the filling.

For Filling: Place the apple chunks in a large bowl, along with the berries (if using) and lemon zest. Toss with the lemon juice and sugar. Transfer to your prepared baking dish Spread the topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes (20 - 25 minutes for individual ramekins) or until bubbly, and the topping is golden brown. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 30 minutes before serving.

Serve with softly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Refrigerate leftovers and reheat before serving.

APPLE CRISP RECIPE INGREDIENTS

* 3 pounds tart apples
* 2 tablespoons lemon juice
* 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/3 cup granulated sugar
* 1/3 cup rolled oats
* 4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)
* 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

APPLE CRISP RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Peel, core and chop the apples; toss in a bowl with lemon juice. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add to the apples and toss to combine.
In another bowl combine flour, sugar and oats. Cut butter into 8 small pieces, and cut butter into flour with a pastry blender or two forks until mixture is crumbly. Stir in the chopped nuts.

Butter a 9-inch square baking dish. Spread apple mixture in bottom of baking dish then sprinkle with flour mixture. Bake at 375° for 30 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned.
Serve warm or at room temperature, with vanilla ice cream or a little heavy cream, if desired.

Apple Crisp Recipe INGREDIENTS
  • 4 to 5 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • dash salt
Crisp Topping:
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter (or margarine)
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
Apple Crisp INSTRUCTIONS
Mix apples with sugar, cinnamon and a touch of salt. Place sliced apples in 8 inch square non-stick baking pan or pan sprayed with cooking spray.

For the topping, in a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cinnamon, oats and walnuts. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or cross cutting with 2 knives, until you have coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and crumbs are golden. Serve warm or cold with a dollop of whipped topping or ice cream. The apple crisp recipe is ready...enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 pounds apples (9 medium apples) chosen from the list above
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, more or less according to taste
  • 12 Tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) butter, cold, cut in pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts, your choice, optional

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray 9" X 13" baking dish with vegetable spray.
Peel, core and slice apples and place in the baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Add to apples and toss until coated.
In a medium bowl with a pastry blender or using a stand mixer, combine the remaining flour, brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon.
Using the pastry blender or mixer, cut in the butter until crisp mixture is crumbly. Add nuts at the end if desired and spread evenly over apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes, or until the crisp is nicely browned and apples are tender and bubbly.
Let cool a bit before serving. Apple crisp right out of the oven is very hot!
Serve apple crisp à la mode with ice cream or sweetened whipped cream.
Refrigerate any leftovers. The apple crisp recipe is ready to serves 6-8 persons... enjoy !

INGREDIENTS
  • Three lbs of tart apples
  • Two tablespoons of lemon juice
  • Half a cup of light brown sugar (pack it tightly)
  • Half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • Half a teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • One-third cup of all-purpose flour
  • One-third cup of granulated sugar
  • One-third cup of rolled oats
  • Four tablespoons of cold butter (Half a stick)
  • Half a cup of chopped walnuts or pecans

INSTRUCTIONS
Chop the apples into slices. Remove the peeling and core. Grab two bowls. In one bowl, add the apples and lemon juice. In the other bowl, combine the brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Combine the bowls and mix together. Grab another bowl and mix the flour, suar, and oats. Slice the butter into small pieces. Now use two forks to mix the the flour and butter until it looks crumbly. Add the chopped nuts. Grease a 9 in. square baking dish and spread the apple mixture on the bottom of the dish. Top it off with the flour mix. Cook for 30 - 45 minutes at 375°, or until the apples are soft and topping is browned slightly. It tastes best if you serve it warm, or at least at room temperature. The apple crisp recipe is ready to serve it with a scoup of heavy cream or vanilla ice cream...nice !

CRANBERRY APPLE CRISP RECIPE WITH EQUAL

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup Equal® Spoonful*
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup stick butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Equal® Spoonful**

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine apples, cranberries, and 1 cup Equal® in an ungreased 10-inch glass pie plate.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, pecans, butter and 1/2 cup Equal. Sprinkle mixture over top of the apples and cranberries.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven approximately 50-60 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
Delicious served with frozen yogurt as a dessert. The apple crisp recipe is ready....
